At 1055 you fix your position 087°T, 3.2 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 127°T at 7.3 kn until 1140, then 327°T at 7.3 kn until 1205.

Give the 1205 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
