At 1450 you fix your position 229°T, 2.3 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 004°T at 8.2 kn until 1510, then 190°T at 5.2 kn until 1555.

Give the 1555 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
