At 0800 you fix your position 025°T, 2.6 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 164°T at 10.0 kn until 0825, then 300°T at 6.7 kn until 0840.

Give the 0840 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
