At 0910 you fix your position 193°T, 1.3 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 149°T at 4.6 kn until 0935, then 022°T at 4.0 kn until 1015.

Give the 1015 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
