At 0755 you fix your position 017°T, 2.1 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 148°T at 6.4 kn until 0835, then 268°T at 7.9 kn until 0850.

Give the 0850 DR position as the true bearing FROM Kittle water tank to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
