At 1510 you fix your position 062°T, 2.7 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 094°T at 4.1 kn until 1520, then 321°T at 6.0 kn until 1550.

Give the 1550 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
