At 0715 you fix your position 002°T, 2.3 nm from Mill stack. You steer 351°T at 5.8 kn until 0730, then 131°T at 4.3 kn until 0740.

Give the 0740 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
