Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 109001
Two legs from a 1035 fix: where is the 1125 DR?
At 1035 you fix your position 049°T, 2.2 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 330°T at 7.8 kn until 1050, then 287°T at 9.5 kn until 1125.
Give the 1125 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
