At 1145 you fix your position 144°T, 1.9 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 087°T at 6.2 kn until 1215, then 178°T at 5.4 kn until 1225.

Give the 1225 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
