At 0845 you fix your position 257°T, 3.3 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 052°T at 5.0 kn until 0855, then 306°T at 8.8 kn until 0915.

Give the 0915 DR position as the true bearing FROM Westfield church spire to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
