At 1510 you fix your position 030°T, 2.9 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 121°T at 9.4 kn until 1550, then 274°T at 7.4 kn until 1615.

Give the 1615 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
