At 1510 you fix your position 103°T, 2.1 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 004°T at 7.7 kn until 1530, then 201°T at 9.5 kn until 1555.

Give the 1555 DR position as the true bearing FROM Kittle water tank to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
