At 1425 you fix your position 041°T, 1.8 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 155°T at 5.8 kn until 1505, then 335°T at 7.3 kn until 1545.

Give the 1545 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
