At 1005 you fix your position 062°T, 4.3 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 190°T at 4.7 kn until 1035, then 238°T at 7.3 kn until 1105.

Give the 1105 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
