At 0710 you fix your position 046°T, 3.2 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 238°T at 8.4 kn until 0730, then 297°T at 4.0 kn until 0750.

Give the 0750 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
