Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 117001
Two legs from a 1330 fix: where is the 1450 DR?
At 1330 you fix your position 265°T, 2.0 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 239°T at 6.1 kn until 1405, then 116°T at 8.3 kn until 1450.
Give the 1450 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
