At 1505 you fix your position 306°T, 3.7 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 164°T at 6.1 kn until 1530, then 128°T at 8.5 kn until 1550.

Give the 1550 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
