Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 120008
Two legs from a 1330 fix: where is the 1355 DR?
At 1330 you fix your position 247°T, 2.0 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 344°T at 4.3 kn until 1340, then 250°T at 9.9 kn until 1355.
Give the 1355 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
