At 1440 you fix your position 061°T, 3.4 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 109°T at 6.8 kn until 1505, then 225°T at 9.8 kn until 1520.

Give the 1520 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
