At 0910 you fix your position 023°T, 1.9 nm from Heron Point Light. You steer 099°T at 8.9 kn until 0920, then 342°T at 5.9 kn until 1000.

Give the 1000 DR position as the true bearing FROM Westfield church spire to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
