At 0900 you fix your position 069°T, 4.8 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 200°T at 9.1 kn until 0940, then 316°T at 6.8 kn until 0955.

Give the 0955 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
