At 1405 you fix your position 207°T, 2.2 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 067°T at 4.1 kn until 1435, then 098°T at 8.6 kn until 1450.

Give the 1450 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
