At 1320 you fix your position 341°T, 1.6 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 252°T at 4.1 kn until 1350, then 308°T at 10.0 kn until 1425.

Give the 1425 DR position as the true bearing FROM Westfield church spire to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
