At 1005 you fix your position 027°T, 2.7 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 235°T at 6.7 kn until 1030, then 176°T at 4.4 kn until 1115.

Give the 1115 DR position as the true bearing FROM Kittle water tank to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
