At 1555 you fix your position 270°T, 3.1 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 214°T at 5.8 kn until 1630, then 142°T at 7.2 kn until 1650.

Give the 1650 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
