At 0825 you fix your position 260°T, 2.2 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 339°T at 4.7 kn until 0905, then 224°T at 8.1 kn until 0940.

Give the 0940 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
