At 1455 you fix your position 005°T, 1.0 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 350°T at 4.8 kn until 1540, then 194°T at 4.3 kn until 1550.

Give the 1550 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
