At 1035 you fix your position 084°T, 2.6 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 297°T at 5.4 kn until 1110, then 002°T at 4.7 kn until 1135.

Give the 1135 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
