At 0755 you fix your position 205°T, 2.0 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 012°T at 4.0 kn until 0835, then 226°T at 5.2 kn until 0845.

Give the 0845 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
