At 0905 you fix your position 270°T, 1.2 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 277°T at 8.1 kn until 0950, then 005°T at 6.2 kn until 1030.

Give the 1030 DR position as the true bearing FROM Westfield church spire to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
