At 1155 you fix your position 066°T, 4.3 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 216°T at 7.9 kn until 1205, then 113°T at 6.8 kn until 1220.

Give the 1220 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
