At 0820 you fix your position 123°T, 1.5 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 025°T at 6.4 kn until 0840, then 095°T at 5.6 kn until 0915.

Give the 0915 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
