At 1220 you fix your position 106°T, 2.2 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 043°T at 5.5 kn until 1235, then 185°T at 5.2 kn until 1300.

Give the 1300 DR position as the true bearing FROM Kittle water tank to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
