At 1330 you fix your position 013°T, 2.0 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 203°T at 7.1 kn until 1340, then 145°T at 7.4 kn until 1355.

Give the 1355 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
