At 1035 you fix your position 090°T, 3.5 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 136°T at 7.6 kn until 1110, then 019°T at 4.2 kn until 1120.

Give the 1120 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
