At 1215 you fix your position 061°T, 4.6 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 176°T at 7.9 kn until 1255, then 322°T at 4.6 kn until 1335.

Give the 1335 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
