Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 137002
Two legs from a 1035 fix: where is the 1140 DR?
At 1035 you fix your position 265°T, 3.5 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 223°T at 7.2 kn until 1105, then 097°T at 7.3 kn until 1140.
Give the 1140 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
