At 1155 you fix your position 039°T, 2.5 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 171°T at 4.9 kn until 1205, then 106°T at 7.6 kn until 1225.

Give the 1225 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
