At 1215 you fix your position 307°T, 1.0 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 269°T at 4.8 kn until 1255, then 163°T at 6.7 kn until 1305.

Give the 1305 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
