At 0850 you fix your position 093°T, 2.3 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 021°T at 6.5 kn until 0910, then 105°T at 8.0 kn until 0920.

Give the 0920 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
