Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 139004
Two legs from a 0945 fix: where is the 1100 DR?
At 0945 you fix your position 167°T, 1.5 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 300°T at 9.0 kn until 1015, then 257°T at 5.4 kn until 1100.
Give the 1100 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
