At 0705 you fix your position 331°T, 1.4 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 235°T at 5.0 kn until 0730, then 281°T at 6.6 kn until 0800.

Give the 0800 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
