At 0805 you fix your position 076°T, 2.8 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 270°T at 7.7 kn until 0845, then 305°T at 7.5 kn until 0920.

Give the 0920 DR position as the true bearing FROM Westfield church spire to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
