At 0800 you fix your position 353°T, 1.3 nm from Heron Point Light. You steer 053°T at 5.9 kn until 0845, then 267°T at 8.9 kn until 0855.

Give the 0855 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
