Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 142008
Two legs from a 1300 fix: where is the 1350 DR?
At 1300 you fix your position 001°T, 3.3 nm from Mill stack. You steer 302°T at 6.0 kn until 1335, then 098°T at 5.2 kn until 1350.
Give the 1350 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
