At 0950 you fix your position 058°T, 2.9 nm from Heron Point Light. You steer 286°T at 8.1 kn until 1015, then 091°T at 8.0 kn until 1050.

Give the 1050 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
