At 1215 you fix your position 255°T, 3.6 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 311°T at 8.6 kn until 1245, then 169°T at 8.8 kn until 1310.

Give the 1310 DR position as the true bearing FROM Westfield church spire to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
