At 1120 you fix your position 254°T, 3.3 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 151°T at 8.3 kn until 1135, then 083°T at 5.2 kn until 1155.

Give the 1155 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
