At 0905 you fix your position 134°T, 2.7 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 014°T at 9.6 kn until 0915, then 143°T at 4.7 kn until 0945.

Give the 0945 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
