At 0835 you fix your position 105°T, 1.7 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 345°T at 4.5 kn until 0915, then 222°T at 4.9 kn until 0940.

Give the 0940 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
